Three Go Roam lets you use your UK minutes, texts and up to 12GB of data a month in more than 160 destinations. Whether it costs you anything depends on your plan and where you're going: some plans include it, and the rest pay a daily charge (£2.75 a day in Europe for newer customers) or buy a Go Roam pass in advance, where a 7-day Europe pass is £12.
This guide sets out the bands, the charges, the passes and the limits, using Three's own pages as read on 30 October 2026.
What is Three Go Roam?
Go Roam is the umbrella name for using your Three allowance abroad. Three's Go Roam support page splits it into three bands:

In every band you can call and text UK numbers from your plan, call voicemail, and use up to 12GB of your data. In the Europe band you can also call and text numbers in other Go Roam in Europe destinations.
Go Roam works without setup. Three says you need a compatible phone with data roaming switched on, roaming enabled on your account, and a Spend Cap high enough to cover any daily charge. If the Spend Cap is too low, you may not be able to roam at all.
Does my Three plan include Go Roam?
That depends on which plan you have and when you started it. From Three's roaming cost article and roaming abroad page:
- Complete plan, started on or after 22 June 2025: all three bands included at no extra cost.
- Value plan, started on or after 22 June 2025: Go Roam in Europe included. Other bands need a pass or the daily charge.
- Lite plans and older Advanced plans: nothing built in. Buy a Go Roam pass or pay the daily charge.
- Value or Complete, started before 22 June 2025: roaming days are built in (Three lists up to 28 days on Value and up to 56 on Complete). Once they run out, you buy passes or pay daily.
- Pay Monthly plans started before 1 October 2021: Europe and Around the World included; Around the World Extra is not available.

What are Three's daily roaming charges?
If roaming isn't included, the daily charge unlocks your UK allowance for 24 hours.
Joined or upgraded on or after 18 December 2025: £2.75 a day in Europe, £8 a day in Around the World and Around the World Extra. These rates started on 1 April 2026, and Three says they will rise each year.
SIM Only 24-month Lite plans with 25GB or 120GB, joined or upgraded from 1 June 2025: £2 a day in Europe, £5 in Around the World and £7 in Around the World Extra, including for anyone who joined after 18 December 2025.
Joined or upgraded between 1 October 2021 and 17 December 2025: £2 a day in Europe. The Around the World Extra rate for this group is £7.
Joined before October 2021: daily charges don't apply. Three points to its price guide for those plans.
Two exceptions apply to everyone: there's no charge to unlock your allowance in the Republic of Ireland or the Isle of Man.
How much is a Go Roam pass, and is the 7-day pass worth it?
Go Roam passes replace the daily charge with one up-front fee. Three's roaming abroad page lists these prices:

The 7-day Europe pass at £12 works out at about £1.71 a day. Against the £2.75 daily charge, that's £19.25 for a week paid day by day, so the pass saves £7.25 for anyone who'll use their phone on all seven days. For customers on the older £2 rate the saving is £2. Three markets this as "up to 2 days roaming free".
Passes can be bought before you travel or while abroad, several at once, and in any mix of bands. They're used in the order you bought them, and when you hold passes for different bands, the one matching your location is used first.
Which destinations are in Three Go Roam?
Three publishes the full list on its destinations page. The European picture:
Go Roam in Europe (49): every EU country, plus Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, San Marino, Vatican City, Gibraltar, Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man, the Åland Islands, the Balearic and Canary Islands, the Azores and Madeira, and French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Mayotte, Réunion, Saint Barthélemy and Saint Martin.
In Go Roam Around the World Extra, not Europe: Turkey, Albania, Andorra, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Ukraine, the Faroe Islands and Northern Cyprus. For newer customers that is £8 a day, or a pass from the Extra column above.
Not in Go Roam at all: Monaco sits in Three's "Rest of the World" list, along with ships, ferries and in-flight networks. Your UK allowance doesn't work there and standard rates apply.
Around the World covers 22 destinations including the USA, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. Around the World Extra covers a further 92, including Canada, Mexico, Japan, the UAE and Thailand.
What is Three's Go Roam fair-use limit?
On Pay Monthly, you can use up to 12GB of your data allowance a month across all Go Roam destinations. Three says the limit may change, and that Go Roam is intended for UK residents on short trips such as holidays or business travel.
The Republic of Ireland is excluded from the 12GB limit, which Three explains as protection for people near the Northern Ireland border whose phones connect to Irish networks by accident. There's no fair-use limit on calls and texts in Go Roam in Europe destinations.
Separately, Three applies a default data roaming spend limit of £45 plus VAT a month, with texts at 80% and 95% of it, according to its roaming costs page.
How does Go Roam work on Pay As You Go?
There's no daily charge on Pay As You Go. Three says your UK allowances unlock in Go Roam destinations at no cost, but you must top up or buy a Data Pack in the UK before you travel, or you won't be able to use your phone abroad. How much of a Data Pack you can use while roaming depends on the pack; Three's auto-renew packs list Go Roam allowances from 6GB (on the 60GB pack) up to 30GB (on Unlimited). Credit used outside a pack is charged at 35p a minute, 15p a text and 10p per MB.
When a Europe eSIM makes sense alongside Three
If your plan includes Europe and you'll stay under 12GB, Go Roam costs nothing extra. Lotsotravel's Europe eSIM is useful when one of these applies, and your Three number stays active for calls and texts throughout:

Every Three figure in this guide was read on 2026-10-30 from Three's own pages for personal Pay Monthly and Pay As You Go customers: the Go Roam support page, the roaming abroad page (which carries the Go Roam pass prices), the roaming destinations list, the understanding roaming costs page and Three's "How much does it cost to roam" article. Each is linked in the sources below. Three Business is out of scope.
Three's pages disagree on one figure, the Go Roam Around the World daily charge for customers who joined between October 2021 and December 2025 (one page says £5, another £7), so we leave it out. Prices for Data Travel Passes and for Three's standard rates outside Go Roam vary by destination and are not quoted here except where Three publishes a band-wide figure.
