Who has qualified for the ATP Finals 2026? Three players so far: Zverev, Alcaraz and Shelton, who sealed his place on 18 October. Jannik Sinner is out for the season, so five places remain. Jodar holds the last of them on 3,159 points. All figures here come from the live race of 22 October 2026.
Key takeaways
- Three players are in.
- Sinner is out injured.
- Five places are still open.
- One player can still add 1,750 points.
- The line-up is set after the final event.
Who has qualified for the ATP Finals 2026?
Zverev, Alcaraz and Shelton are in. Alcaraz got in through the major-champion rule, and the other two on points. The official player page lists all three.
| Player | Race points (22 Oct) | Qualified on | How |
|---|---|---|---|
| Alexander Zverev | 9,150 | 6 August | Race points, at the National Bank Open |
| Carlos Alcaraz | 4,600 | 16 September | Grand Slam champion sure of a top-20 finish |
| Ben Shelton | 4,480 | 18 October | Race points, in Shanghai |
| Jannik Sinner | 7,950 | 10 July | Qualified, then ended his season |
Sinner has been out with a knee injury since July. Paris organisers report that he will not defend his titles there or in Turin. He was the two-time defending champion.
How does the cut work with Sinner out?
ATP rules put the top seven in the race after the final event into the field, according to the tour's rankings FAQ. The eighth place goes to a 2026 major champion ranked eighth to 20th. If there is none, it goes to the player in eighth. All four 2026 majors went to players already in the top four, so that exception is used up.
A withdrawal is replaced by the next player on the list, says chapter 4 of the rulebook. The next one after that becomes the alternate. He attends the media day and stays on call until the last group match. Turin therefore takes the top nine minus Sinner, and ninth place is the last ticket.
The race counts results from the 2026 season only, so nothing drops off before the cut. Results from the week after the final event count towards 2027.
Who can still qualify for Turin?
Everyone in the top 20 is still alive on paper, because the final event alone is worth 1,000. The table shows each chaser's remaining events and his ceiling. The last column gives the result that would make him certain, whatever anyone else does.
| Pos | Player | Points | Events left | Ceiling | What makes him certain |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5 | Flavio Cobolli | 3,540 | Lyon*, Vienna, Paris | 5,290 | Paris final, or Vienna title + one Paris win |
| 6 | Daniil Medvedev | 3,470 | Almaty (QF), Vienna, Paris | 5,170 | Almaty + Vienna titles, or Paris final |
| 7 | Frances Tiafoe | 3,380 | Vienna, Paris | 4,880 | Paris title, or Vienna title + Paris semi |
| 8 | Arthur Fils | 3,375 | Brussels (QF), Basel, Paris | 5,075 | Any final total of 4,195+ |
| 9 | Rafael Jodar | 3,159 | Basel, Paris | 4,659 | Paris title |
| 10 | Alex de Minaur | 2,880 | Vienna, Paris | 4,380 | Paris title + Vienna final |
| 11 | Novak Djokovic | 2,840 | Basel, Paris | 4,340 | Basel + Paris titles |
| 12 | Tommy Paul | 2,635 | Lyon (QF), Vienna, Paris | 4,335 | Vienna + Paris titles |
| 13 | Taylor Fritz | 2,580 | Basel, Paris | 4,080 | No result makes him certain |
| 14 | Jakub Mensik | 2,495 | Vienna, Paris | 3,995 | No result makes him certain |
| 15 | Felix Auger-Aliassime | 2,465 | Paris | 3,465 | No result makes him certain |
*Lyon has Cobolli as top seed, but his race total had not moved when we read it. We could not confirm whether he is still in the draw, so his points there are a scenario.
The ceilings use face value and cannot all happen at once: only one player can win the last event. Entries come from the official acceptance list and the player pages for Vienna, Basel and Brussels.
Medvedev and Djokovic have their own pages: can Medvedev qualify? and can Djokovic qualify?
Can Cobolli qualify for a home ATP Finals?
Yes, and he holds the best position of the chasers: fifth, 381 points above the cut. It would be his debut at the event, in his home country.
Cobolli has built his 2026 on big events. He reached the final at Roland Garros and won the 500 in Acapulco, according to the tour's Shanghai preview. Shanghai itself went badly: he lost his opening match, and his total has sat at 3,540 since.
| Cobolli's results from here | His total | Rivals who could still reach it | Certain? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lyon title, Vienna runner-up (scenario) | 4,120 before Paris | 4 | Yes, before Paris |
| Out in Lyon, wins Vienna, one Paris win | 4,140 | 4 | Yes |
| Out in Lyon and Vienna, Paris runner-up | 4,190 | 4 | Yes |
| Out in Lyon and Vienna, Paris semi-final | 3,940 | 5 | Not yet |
| Scores nothing more | 3,540 | 9 | Depends on others |
Five places are open, so four rivals reaching his number still leaves him in. Every row is a scenario, not a forecast.
When could players start dropping out?
Djokovic and the six players above him cannot be eliminated before the final week. Each still has a ceiling that fewer than five rivals can top before that draw starts.
Lower down it can happen sooner. Paul, Fritz and Mensik could each be out before the final week if they scored nothing more first and five chasers had big weeks. Fritz is the clearest case: with no points in Switzerland, his ceiling would be 3,580, and five players above him can all pass that before 2 November.
Which tournament could decide it?
The fourth column shows the most any one chaser can still add once that week is done.
| Week | Tournament | Contenders entered | Most any chaser can add after it | Country eSIM |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 19 to 25 Oct | Almaty Open, Kazakhstan (ATP 250) | Medvedev | 1,500 | Kazakhstan |
| 19 to 25 Oct | Lyon, France (ATP 250) | Cobolli, Paul | 1,500 | France |
| 19 to 25 Oct | European Open, Brussels (ATP 250) | Fils, Lehecka, F. Cerundolo | 1,500 | Belgium |
| 26 Oct to 1 Nov | Erste Bank Open, Vienna (ATP 500) | Cobolli, Medvedev, Tiafoe, de Minaur, Paul, Mensik | 1,000 | Austria |
| 26 Oct to 1 Nov | Swiss Indoors, Basel (ATP 500) | Fils, Jodar, Djokovic, Fritz | 1,000 | Switzerland |
| 2 to 8 Nov | Paris Masters, France (1000) | All of them. The race closes | 0 | France |
| 15 to 22 Nov | Nitto ATP Finals, Turin | The eight qualifiers | n/a | Italy |
Vienna is the week to watch. Four of the seven players from fifth to 11th share that draw, and Basel holds the other three.

What does this maths leave out?
The figures on this page count race points and nothing else. They hold no view on indoor form or fitness, and they carry no odds. A withdrawal, a retirement or a late wild card would change the entry lists, and we would rerun the script. The methodology note below has the method in full.

How we did this comparison
This post counts PIF ATP Race To Turin points only. The base is the ATP Live Race To Turin page as we read it on 22 October 2026, during the Almaty, Lyon and Brussels events, checked against ATP's dated Live Race articles of 18 and 19 October. Qualification rules come from ATP's Rankings FAQ and Chapter IV of the 2026 ATP Rulebook. Round points come from Chapter IX of the rulebook: ATP 250 (250-165-100-50-25), ATP 500 (500-330-200-100-50) and the 56-draw Masters 1000 in Paris (1000-650-400-200-100-50-10).
Remaining entries come from the official Paris acceptance list, the Basel, Vienna and Brussels player pages and ATP's own previews. Where we could not confirm that a player is still in a draw this week, we show the points available if he is, and label it a scenario. The Race is a calendar-year count of 2026 results, so no points drop off before Paris and we model none. A 250 or 500 result counts only if it is among a player's best six such results, so it can add less than face value; our scenarios use face value.
Our "certain" figures come from a script that gives every rival the best results their draws allow, ignoring bracket positions and the qualified players' share of results, so they are cautious. We do not predict form, injuries, withdrawals or results, and we use no betting odds. We update this post after each tournament.
