Does the Rogers Red World Elite include an eSIM?
Yes, an eSIM is included
The Rogers Red World Elite Mastercard is a Mastercard World Elite card. Mastercard runs its Canadian cardholder eSIM program through FlexiRoam, and at this tier that means three complimentary 1GB plans a year valid 5 days per plan, each activated separately, plus 20% off subsequent FlexiRoam purchases, applied automatically.
What the benefit actually is
- Free data
- Three complimentary 1GB plans a year
- Validity
- 5 days per plan, each activated separately
- Discount after that
- 20% off subsequent FlexiRoam purchases, applied automatically
- Coverage
- 520+ network operators across 150+ countries and regions
- How to claim it
- Download the FlexiRoam app, create an account, and enter your 16-digit Mastercard number to check eligibility and redeem.
Divide it and the shape of the benefit becomes clear: 1GB across 5 days is about 205 MB a day. That covers maps, messaging and boarding passes. It does not cover a video call home, a podcast on the train, or an evening of scrolling, and FlexiRoam says as much itself: its lite plans exclude streaming, video calls and large downloads by design.
Where it runs out
Take a two-week trip. The complimentary allowance on this card is 3GB a year, and each plan runs 5 days per plan, each activated separately. Even used perfectly, it is a starter rather than a trip's worth of data, which is why the discount on further plans matters more than the free gigabyte does. The gap is the part worth planning, and it is cheaper to close than most people expect.
Closing the gap
Our USA plans start at $4.99 USD, and a 10GB plan valid 30 days costs less than a single day of most Canadian carrier roaming. You keep your Canadian SIM active for calls and 2FA texts, switch data roaming off on that line, and run data over the eSIM.

Travel perks worth naming
- Net +0.5% on American spending once the 2.5% conversion fee is counted
- No annual fee, so there is nothing to break even against
Best for
Cross-border shoppers and Florida regulars whose foreign spending is mostly in US dollars.
Watch out
The offset only works in US dollars. On euros or yen you earn 2% at best against a 2.5% fee, so you end up slightly behind.
The conditions on the eSIM benefit
- Redemption runs through the FlexiRoam app: you download it, create an account and enter the full 16-digit card number to prove eligibility.
- Each plan must be activated and consumed within the calendar year, and each 1GB plan is activated separately.
- Five days is the whole life of a plan once activated, so an unused day is a lost day.
- FlexiRoam excludes North Korea, Ukraine, Western Sahara and Tanzania from the complimentary plans.
- Mastercard states neither it nor your card issuer is responsible for the benefit; your agreement is with FlexiRoam.

Card facts were read off the issuer's own product pages and regulated disclosures on 2026-08-23. Network eSIM terms come from the program operator's own Canadian terms page, not from a rewards blog. Both operators can change or withdraw these programs without notice, so confirm before you rely on one. We sell travel eSIMs and none of these card links pays us a commission.
