TD Canada Trust · Visa Infinite

Does the TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite include an eSIM?

    Yes, an eSIM is included

The TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card is a Visa Infinite card. Visa runs its Canadian cardholder eSIM program through GigSky, and at this tier that means one complimentary 1GB plan a year valid 15 days, plus 20% off every other GigSky plan, for as long as you hold the card.

    What the benefit actually is

    Free data
One complimentary 1GB plan a year
    Validity
    15 days
    Discount after that
20% off every other GigSky plan, for as long as you hold the card
    Coverage
    200+ countries and destinations
    How to claim it
Download the GigSky app, tap the Visa banner, enter your card number once to verify, then redeem before you fly.

Divide it and the shape of the benefit becomes clear: 1GB across 15 days is about 68 MB a day. That covers maps, messaging and boarding passes. It does not cover a video call home, a podcast on the train, or an evening of scrolling, and GigSky says as much itself: its lite plans exclude streaming, video calls and large downloads by design.

    Where it runs out

Take a two-week trip. The complimentary allowance on this card is 1GB a year, and each plan runs 15 days. Even used perfectly, it is a starter rather than a trip's worth of data, which is why the discount on further plans matters more than the free gigabyte does. The gap is the part worth planning, and it is cheaper to close than most people expect.

    Closing the gap

Our Europe+ plans start at $4.99 USD, and a 10GB plan valid 30 days costs less than a single day of most Canadian carrier roaming. You keep your Canadian SIM active for calls and 2FA texts, switch data roaming off on that line, and run data over the eSIM.

    Travel perks worth naming

    • First checked bag free on Air Canada flights
    • The most widely held Aeroplan card in Canada, and the cheapest way into the 1.5x categories

    Best for

Regular Air Canada flyers who want Aeroplan earning without a premium annual fee.

    Watch out

TD's Information Box states a 2.5% foreign currency fee. At 1 point per dollar on a data plan you are about half a percent behind that fee, so this is not the card to reach for on a USD purchase.

The conditions on the eSIM benefit

    • Data only. GigSky states the service does not support voice calls or SMS, so your Canadian line still has to be reachable for anything that arrives as a text.
    • The eligible Visa card has to be set as the default payment method inside the GigSky app. Pay with anything else and GigSky says you lose the discount and pay full retail.
    • You have up to 365 days to activate, after which GigSky activates the plan for you whether you are travelling or not.
    • The benefit renews every 365 days from redemption, not on a calendar year.

    Other Visa Infinite cards

These carry the same network tier, so the eSIM answer is identical. They differ on fees, earn rates and whether they charge you to spend in another currency.
