1. The 24-hour window starts on first use, not at local midnight. Land in Rome in the evening and check email, that's hour zero of day one. Use data again the next afternoon and you're already deep into day two, even though under 24 hours have passed since you touched down.
2. One pass covers however many Roam Surf countries you visit inside that window. Cross from France into Belgium inside a single 24-hour block and you're not charged twice, as long as both stops are on the Roam Surf 399 list.
3. The UK, Hong Kong, and Singapore sit outside the ₱399 list entirely. Globe's own FAQ pages are explicit about this: Roam Surf 399 does not cover those three destinations, and Roam Surf 499 exists specifically to cover them, at a 25% markup, with 10 minutes of free calls thrown in that the cheaper pass doesn't include.
4. It's a purchased pass, not a passthrough, for most customers. If your trip is long enough to make Longer Stay worth investigating, check the exact rate for your dates in the GlobeOne app before you fly rather than assuming ₱300/day applies uniformly. Even at that best-case rate, a 14-day trip still runs roughly ₱4,200 (about $69 USD), several times the cost of the equivalent Lotsotravel eSIM plan.

When Globe Roam Surf is the better choice

Roam Surf isn't a bad product, it's automatic, requires no setup, and keeps your Globe number reachable the entire trip. A few situations tilt the math back toward it.

• Very short trips of a day or two on the continent. A 36-hour layover in Amsterdam costs ₱399-798. A 3GB Lotsotravel Europe+ plan runs around $8 USD, so the eSIM still wins on price, but the gap is small enough that plenty of travelers happily pay for zero setup.
• A managed corporate Globe line. Some employers require all roaming through the corporate carrier for billing or compliance reasons, and Roam Surf is the simplest way to satisfy that for a single trip.
• No eSIM-compatible phone. Older Android handsets and pre-2018 iPhones don't support eSIM. Roam Surf, or a physical local SIM bought on arrival, are the only options there.
