F1 2027 Ticket Presales: Amex, F1 Waitlists, Deposits and Bank Presales

Updated Oct 30, 202628 sources cited

Ask how to get F1 tickets early and the answer is usually "American Express". That is half right. Amex runs presales at many 2027 races, but it is one of five routes in, and at several races it is not the first one. The others are Formula 1's own waitlists, F1 Experiences deposits, circuit memberships, and at the Mexican Grand Prix, bank presales.

    Key takeaways

    • American Express: presales at many races. Who qualifies differs race by race; read the promoter's page.
    • Formula 1's ticket store: a free waitlist per race that promises pre-sale access.
    • F1 Experiences: a non-refundable deposit of US$500 to US$2,000 per person for priority access to its packages.
    • Circuit memberships and renewals often go before Amex (Silverstone, Monaco, Melbourne, Montreal).
    • Mexico: bank presales (Banamex, Banorte, HSBC for 2026), not Amex.

    1. American Express

American Express sells Amex Presale Tickets for "select events and select seats, during a specified period prior to the general on-sale dates" (Amex US). Its US terms say:

    • Tickets must be bought with an American Express Card, "including, for example, the American Express International Dollar Cards".
    • An American Express Prepaid Card cannot be used.
    • Tickets are sold and fulfilled by third-party ticket sellers, not by American Express, under the seller's prices, fees and terms.
    • Supply may be limited, not all seats may be offered, and purchase limits may apply.

Amex Switzerland adds that presale windows "typically" last between three and six days, that presale access "does not guarantee ticket availability", and that the offers are provided by Quint Events. Quint runs the Amex early-access portal, which describes four kinds of package for Card Members: the Paddock Club, F1 Experiences packages, Amex hospitality and grandstand or general admission tickets. On 30 October 2026 its 2027 list ran from Bahrain to the United States Grand Prix, and each race linked only to an F1 Experiences package. In Canada, Amex calls it Front Of The Line Amex Presale Tickets.

There is no discount. You pay the seller's price, before everyone else.

    Who qualified, race by race

The real eligibility rules are on each promoter's page, and they are not the same:

Race2027 Amex windowWho could buy, as the promoter states it
British GP8 Sep (three new hospitality packages) and 21 Sep 2026 (tickets), 48 hours each"All new and existing American Express Card Members", checking out with an Amex card
Spanish GP, Madrid21 Sep 12:00 to 28 Sep 09:00, 2026"Any AMEX card, whether issued in Spain or internationally"; up to 10 tickets
Italian GP, Monza17 Sep 11:00 to 24 Sep 11:00, 2026Amex Card Members paying by Amex, prepaid excluded; up to 10 tickets
Australian GP12:00 pm 2 Oct to 12:00 pm 4 Oct 2026 (AEST)"Any variation of American Express (Amex) card, from any country"; up to 6 tickets
Canadian GP2027 presale, Grandstands 16 and 32 onlyCharged in full to an Amex Card; 8 per transaction; not renewable

The four dated windows have closed, and Canada's Amex buy links now redirect to the circuit's home page. Monza still had Amex-reserved hospitality packages on sale. On Amex's portal, Miami's 2027 grandstand link was not yet live, and Mexico City, São Paulo, Las Vegas, Qatar and Abu Dhabi had no 2027 entry. The US Amex page still listed 2026 races.

How to use it next time: watch the promoter's site, not only Amex's, because the promoter publishes the window and the rules first. Have your Amex card ready, and check that it is not prepaid.

    2. Formula 1's own waitlist

This is the free one, and it is the route most people miss. The official Formula 1 ticket store shows "Join the waitlist" for every race it is not yet selling, and each waitlist page says the same thing: "Join the waitlist and get exclusive access to pre-sale tickets before they are released to the public!" (example: Las Vegas). F1 Hospitality runs separate waitlists for the Paddock Club (example: Monaco).

On 30 October 2026 the F1 store had waitlists for Australia, Japan, China, Canada, Portugal, Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Singapore, the United States, Mexico City, São Paulo, Las Vegas, Qatar and Abu Dhabi. It does not name a card or a country restriction. The catch is that the F1 store can price above the promoter's own list. For 2027, its Monaco Grandstand B Sunday pass was €1,208 against the Automobile Club de Monaco's €1,050, and its Monza 6C weekend ticket was €1,330 against Monza's €1,158. Compare before you buy.

    3. F1 Experiences deposits

F1 Experiences is Formula 1's official ticket-and-travel package seller. For some 2027 races it runs a Deposit Programme: "you can reserve priority access to purchase an Official F1 Experiences Ticket Package before they go on sale to the general public." On 30 October 2026 deposits were available for Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Austria, Hungary, Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Mexico City, São Paulo, Las Vegas, Qatar and Abu Dhabi, and Spa's had sold out. At Las Vegas and Mexico City a deposit is US$500 for a Fan Experience package, US$1,000 for hospitality and US$2,000 for the Paddock Club. Deposits are per person, non-refundable, apply only to multi-day packages and count towards the package price, and every deposit page says 2027 package pricing is not confirmed. It gets you first pick of packages, not of the promoter's general admission tickets.

    4. Circuit memberships, renewals and loyalty

Several promoters let their own members or past buyers in before Amex:

    • Silverstone: Silverstone Racing Club Full Circuit members (16 September) and Grid members (17 September) went before the Amex presale, and official camping and glamping bookers got a window on 23 September. Silverstone's FAQ names those three routes: membership, Amex and camping.
    • Monaco: the Automobile Club de Monaco ran a members' presale on 17 September, two weeks before public sale.
    • Melbourne: the new Albert Park Circuit Club membership went on sale on 1 October, a day before the Amex presale, and is designed to guarantee members a ticket.
    • Montreal: renewals for previous seat holders began the week after the 2026 race and have closed, except for Grandstand 1.
    • Mexico City: the Derecho de Primera Opción, bought with a 2026 ticket, gives first option on the same seat for 2027 and 2028.
    • Deposits at the circuit: COTA was taking 2027 deposits, Miami a $100 deposit per 2027 Campus Pass, and Las Vegas ran promoter deposits for its 2026 race.

    5. Bank presales in Mexico

At the Mexican Grand Prix the presales have run through banks. For 2026, the promoter held a Banamex presale on 10 November 2025 and a Banorte early sale on 11 November, both from 11am, before general sale on 12 November (announcement), and a final HSBC-cardholder-only sale on 19 and 20 May 2026. No 2027 bank presale had been announced. The details are in our Mexico City GP 2027 tickets guide.

    Which route to use

Our take: join the F1 store waitlist for every race you are considering, because it is free. Sign up to the promoter's newsletter, because the promoter announces the presale order first. Hold an Amex card if you want the widest set of early windows, and check each race's rules rather than assuming your card's country matters. Put money down on a deposit only if you already want an F1 Experiences package.

Sale status for every round is on our F1 2027 on-sale dates hub. For what the hospitality packages include once you are in, see the F1 hospitality guide.

    Frequently asked questions

Does American Express run F1 ticket presales?+
Yes. American Express Card Members get Amex Presale Tickets for select Grands Prix. Amex's US terms say tickets must be bought with an American Express Card, including American Express International Dollar Cards, and that prepaid cards cannot be used. The tickets are sold and fulfilled by third-party sellers, not by American Express.
    Can I use a non-US or non-UK Amex card in an F1 presale?+
It depends on the race, so read the promoter's page. For 2027, Madring opened its presale to any Amex card issued in Spain or internationally, and the Australian Grand Prix to any variation of Amex card from any country. Silverstone opened its presale to all new and existing American Express Card Members.
Is there a free way to get F1 presale access?+
Yes. The official Formula 1 ticket store runs a waitlist for each race that is not yet on sale, and says joining gives exclusive access to pre-sale tickets before they are released to the public.
Do Amex presales give a discount?+
No. American Express Switzerland says Card Members do not receive a price discount and that presale access does not guarantee ticket availability. Amex's US terms say prices and fees are set by the ticket seller, promoter or venue. You pay the same price, earlier.
Which company runs presales at the Mexican Grand Prix?+
Banks, not Amex. For the 2026 race the promoter ran a Banamex presale and a Banorte early sale before general sale, and a final HSBC-cardholder-only sale on 19 and 20 May 2026. No 2027 bank presale had been announced on 30 October 2026.
