MotoGP Valencia 2026 is the last race of the season. It runs 27 to 29 November at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Cheste, a town west of Valencia city. The main race starts at 14:00 local time on Sunday. On 22 October 2026, as riders gathered for round 18, Jorge Martín led Marc Márquez by two points. The title could still be open at Valencia.
Key takeaways
- The weekend runs Friday 27 to Sunday 29 November 2026. The main race starts at 14:00 local time on the Sunday.
- Martín led Márquez by two points after round 17, with five rounds left. Valencia is the last of them.
- The train and taxis each take about 25 minutes from Valencia. Expect a long queue for the train home.
- Spain is on our Europe eSIM, which covers 33 countries. 5GB for 5 days costs $4.95.
- Going to Portugal's race on 22 November too? The same plan covers both countries, and 10GB for 15 days costs $8.95.
Could Valencia decide the 2026 MotoGP title?
Yes, because the top two riders are two points apart with five rounds left. After round 17, the standings had Martín on 355 points and Márquez on 353. That left 185 points to race for.
A rider who wins both the Sprint and the main race takes 37 points from a weekend. A September title analysis notes Márquez has done that three times this season. Five weekends at 37 points make the 185. With a gap of two, any of the next four rounds can flip the lead, and the last one can flip it back.
A 13 October report on motogp.com says the gap matches 2022. That year Quartararo and Bagnaia fought to the final round in Cheste, and Bagnaia won his first title there. The same report says Márquez has cut a 102-point deficit down to two this year.
Six more riders were still mathematically alive after round 17. The closest, Bezzecchi, sits 46 points back, more than one perfect weekend. On 22 October, media day in Australia opened with the same two points in it.
| Round | Date (race day) | Venue | Points left after it |
|---|---|---|---|
| 18 | 25 Oct | Phillip Island, Australia | 148 |
| 19 | 1 Nov | Sepang, Malaysia | 111 |
| 20 | 8 Nov | Lusail, Qatar | 74 |
| 21 | 22 Nov | Portimão, Portugal | 37 |
| 22 | 29 Nov | Valencia, Spain | 0 |
The middle class is open too. González led Moto2 by 6.5 points after round 17. Moto3 is already settled.
Everything after 22 October is a scenario. If one rider leads by more than 37 points before the last weekend, the finale becomes a celebration rather than a decider. The running totals live in who can still win the 2026 MotoGP title and can Marc Márquez still win the championship, updated after each round.
What are the MotoGP Valencia 2026 session times?
The Sprint starts at 15:00 on Saturday 28 November. The main race starts at 14:00 on Sunday 29 November. Those are local times, one hour ahead of the UK, from the official event schedule.
| Day | MotoGP session | Time (CET, UTC+1) |
|---|---|---|
| Fri 27 Nov | Free Practice 1 | 10:45 |
| Fri 27 Nov | Practice | 15:00 |
| Sat 28 Nov | Free Practice 2 | 10:10 |
| Sat 28 Nov | Qualifying 1 | 10:50 |
| Sat 28 Nov | Qualifying 2 | 11:15 |
| Sat 28 Nov | Tissot Sprint | 15:00 |
| Sun 29 Nov | Warm Up | 09:40 |
| Sun 29 Nov | Moto3 race | 11:00 |
| Sun 29 Nov | Moto2 race | 12:15 |
| Sun 29 Nov | Grand Prix | 14:00 |
The smaller classes start the day. On Friday the first bikes go out at 09:00. If you come by train, the queue home matters more than the queue in, so decide early whether you will stay for the podium. Times can shift, so recheck the schedule the week before.
Tickets are sold through the official ticket shop and the circuit's event page. The circuit says its three hospitality packages include reserved parking. Neither page listed general-admission prices when we checked.
How do you get from Valencia to Circuit Ricardo Tormo?
Take the train or a taxi. The circuit's access and mobility page puts both at about 25 minutes from the city, against up to two hours by car.
| Mode | Time from Valencia | What the circuit says | Return wait |
|---|---|---|---|
| Train | 25 min | Halt 7 minutes' walk from the gates, 8,000 places | 30-120 min queue |
| Taxi | 25 min | Own access lane, rank 2 minutes from the gates, 5,000 places, up to 4 people | 15-45 min queue |
| Motorbike | 25-45 min | Parking near the gates | Weather dependent |
| Coach | 30-80 min | Parking near the gates, up to 55 people | Slower in and out |
| Car | 30-120 min | Parking near the gates only if space allows | Slower in and out |
Train. The circuit gives the rail operator's information line (963 357 400) but does not name the station on that page. Check your route on the morning you travel. The catch is capacity: 8,000 places, and on Sunday evening most of the crowd wants the same trains.
Taxi. Four taxi firms are listed, including the local Cheste Taxi on 659 612 506. A cab holds four people. Split four ways, it can rival the train, and its queue home is shorter.
Coach. BusForFun runs coaches on Saturday and Sunday from 13 pick-up points in the city and nearby towns. It quotes 35 to 45 minutes depending on the stop and traffic. You book online, so you need data if you sort it out the night before.
Car. Organisers ask fans to leave the car behind, and their own table says why: up to two hours to get in, and parking near the gates only if a space is free.
How much data will you use at the circuit?
Budget 1 to 3 GB per day. That is our working range for maps, tickets, timing and messaging, not a figure we measured at the track.
Most of it goes on a few jobs:
- Your ticket and the access map, opened at the gate.
- Live timing, linked from the track's site at getraceresults.com.
- Calling a taxi or finding your coach stop when the race ends.
- Group chats to find your friends in a grandstand.
- Photos and clips, which turn a light day into a heavy one.
The phone works hardest in the queue home. Up to two hours waiting for a train is a long time to scroll or stream highlights. If you know you will, buy one size up.
Which eSIM should you buy for MotoGP Valencia?
Buy our Europe eSIM, which covers Spain and 32 other countries. For a race weekend, 5GB for 5 days costs $4.95. We sell no Spain-only plan, so this is the plan for Spain. The prices below are what you pay through this blog's links, read on 22 October 2026.
| Trip | Plan | VIP price (22 Oct 2026) |
|---|---|---|
| Race weekend, light use | 5GB / 5 days | $4.95 |
| Weekend plus a day either side | 5GB / 10 days | $5.95 |
| Weekend, heavy video | 10GB / 5 days | $7.95 |
| A week in the city | 10GB / 10 days | $8.95 |
| Portimão + Valencia, 10-15 days | 10GB / 15 days | $8.95 |
| Portimão + Valencia, heavy video | 15GB / 15 days | $12.95 |
| Both races + a city break | 20GB / 15 days | $14.95 |
One quirk is worth using. The 10-day and 15-day versions of the 10GB plan cost the same $8.95. If your dates are loose, take the longer one.
Doing both Iberian rounds. The Portimão weekend runs 20 to 22 November, and the finale starts five days later. Friday in Portugal to Sunday in Cheste is ten days. Both countries sit inside the Europe plan, so one QR code covers the whole trip, including the drive or flight between them. Our Europe eSIM travel guide explains how the plan works across borders. Fans used the same plan at the Formula 1 race in Madrid in September; see that guide.
What this guide does not cover
We ran no tests at the circuit, so we cannot say how each network holds up in a full grandstand. The plans are data only, with no local number, so a call to a taxi firm goes out on your home line. The circuit's pages did not list general-admission prices or the station name when we checked. We left out what we could not confirm.
Setting it up before you fly
Lotsotravel is an independent travel eSIM provider, and buying is website-only, no app needed. The order runs like this:
- Buy the plan before you travel, from $4.95 USD.
- Your QR code arrives by email and on the website; install it at home, where the connection is steady.
- Set the eSIM as your data line and keep your home line on for calls, texts and login codes.
- Turn off data roaming on your home line so it cannot run up charges.
- Switch the eSIM on when you land, and check that data works before you leave the airport.
Done in that order, you land with train times and a taxi number in reach. The only queue left is the one after the chequered flag.
Heading to Valencia for the decider?
Spain and Portugal on one Europe eSIM, from $4.95 USD. QR code by email and on the website, installed before you fly.

Methodology
How we did this comparison
Lotsotravel prices come from our live v3 product API (/api/v3/products?country=ES), read on 22 October 2026. That query returned no Spain-only fixed-data plan, so every Spain price here is our 33-country Europe plan, which also covers Portugal. We quote the VIP price, which is what you pay through a link on this blog, and fixed-data plans only.
Session times come from the official MotoGP event schedule for Valencia, read on 22 October 2026, and are local time (CET, UTC+1). Standings come from Crash.net's table after round 17 (Indonesia, 11 October 2026) and from motogp.com's reports of 13 and 22 October. No race was run between Indonesia and the publish date of this post. Transport figures come from the circuit's own access page and from BusForFun, the coach operator it names. One paragraph of the circuit's event page still shows older dates; we used its date box and motogp.com, which agree on 27-29 November.
What this post does not measure: we ran no speed tests at the circuit and did not measure mobile coverage in the crowd. The data-per-day range is our estimate, not a metered figure. We do not compare customer support. The plans are data only, with no Spanish phone number. Scenarios about the title are arithmetic on the points table, not predictions.
